A Gentle Reminder

Written by LaDonna C.

2 Timothy 2:24-26 (NLT)

“A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.”

These scriptures are much needed in the days we are living in. People post things on Facebook that are absolutely against what God teaches and often we as Christians are tempted to quarrel with them about it. I have seen name calling and mean comments by Christians and I admit I too have quarreled myself.

These scriptures remind us that quarreling does no good. We are to gently instruct and be patient with them, then maybe they will see the truth. Maybe not, but we should always remember that they are being held captive in their minds by Satan, who gives them the things they are thinking. They need to see God’s love in His children and we must fight for them on our knees, not by arguing with them.
