Endure to the End
Written by Laura O.
I’m sure most of us have gone through those seasons in our life when you wonder “what next?” You may not even want to get out of bed in the morning for fear of what you may face that day. I know I have. More importantly, God knows! John 16:33 says: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
God has overcome the world! What a wonderful thought! He has already won the battle but it is up to us to endure the troubles and trials of this world in order to gain the victory that awaits. What does that look like? Matthew 10:22 tells us: “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” 2 Timothy 2:3 says: “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” And James 1:12 says: “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”
The crown of life! That is the victory that awaits us when we stand strong in the Lord and allow Him to lead. Yes, there will be trouble but it is no surprise to God. Yes, there will be those that stand against us but God stands for us. Yes, sometimes we even find ourselves in adverse situations of our own making! But even then, God will fight for us when we turn things over to Him and allow Him to guide us. Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Hang in there and remember, we know how the story ends!
