Lately, I have been realizing the difference between JOY and happiness. Happiness is things like sitting in the sunshine at a baseball game eating a snow cone. But, like most things in life, that happy feeling will pass. Things of the world, such as money or temporary feelings, will never satisfy you completely.
However, there is something that will, and that is the JOY that comes from Christ. The JOY that you have being a Christian is something that can never be taken away from you.
So, after looking at both, I have realized that I should be focused on the things that give me JOY, not just happiness. There is a song called “Joy” from Rend Collective that says, “The pain will not define us, and joy will reignite us.” This is so true. So on the days there is not much happiness around, focus on the JOY.
