Sound the Alarm

Written by: Brett T.

Joel Chapter 2 Verse 1

“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;”

Every week day I set my alarm for 4 AM even though I don’t have to leave until 4:50. For whatever reason, I hit the snooze button on my phone to get the extra 8 mins of sleep. Then, usually, I hit the snooze button another two times. I always make sure to hit the snooze button rather than shut the alarm off, because I’m fearful I will miss it and oversleep, causing me to be late for work. How many will miss that alarm and be too late for the Lords return?

We have seen the warning signs given in the Bible, of the Lord’s return drawing closer every day. This world is getting very evil. Just an example is laws trying to be passed where you can kill a child right after delivering it. Are we as Christians sounding the alarm to the world, or are we hitting that snooze button saying give me a little more time before You start blowing that trumpet Lord? We have no idea as to when the Lord will return, whether it be today or 200 years from now. But people are dying and sin is growing rampant. I’m just as guilty but we must stop hitting the snooze button and sound that alarm.

Have you been in a spiritual sleep, saying, “I don’t want to read my bible today,” or “I don’t have time to speak to that person about God, I’ll just speak to them another day?” Don’t miss the opportunity folks. Sound the alarm before you run out of time.
