Today, as Christians, we are being attacked from many sides. One way is through our minds...the things we think about and dwell upon. Keep these verses nearby at all times. One way is to memorize them.
Ephesians 6:16-17
“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”
Hebrews 4:12
“For the Word of God is quick, and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
To help you memorize these scriptures, type or write out these verses and put them up on a wall that you see every day. For example, you can tape them to the mirror that you look in every morning when you are getting ready for work. Recite them as often as possible.
II Corinthians 10:5
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
Here is another promise in God’s Word. Isaiah 54:17
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of me saith the Lord.”
You may have other promises from God’s Word that are your favorites. Remember our Saviour, Jesus Christ, is the Word of God (John1:1). And when He is described in the Book of Revelation in Chapter 1:16 it says, “…..and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword…”
May the Lord Bless you Richly as you study God’s Holy Word.
