Why go to Church the cowboy did inquire
Why on Sunday is it your only desire
On Sunday morning you always head down that way
You go inside and for hours there you stay
Is it the good folks or is the preacher why
Or is it this Jesus on a cross who did die
Or is it the music the hymns you sing
Or is it the sound as the church bells ring
I’ve heard of this Bible a word straight up from God
That gives direction to man as through life he trods
Is it the greeting you get from friends that you make
Or the prayers they pray just for your sake
And sometimes after service there’s a big food spread
And at Christmas that same special story is read
So tell me old friend what this is about
I have so many questions I have my doubt
So give me an answer why you live life this way
Give me your reason what have you to say
The reason my friend I go to church on Sunday
The answer is in everything that you did just say
